The Victor Harbor RSL and the local community is preparing to mark ANZAC Day with a number of commemorations both before the official ANZAC Day and on ANZAC Day proper on Wednesday, April 25.
On Sunday, April 22 the local town march will be held. Form up in Grosvenor Gardens at 1015 hours with a step off scheduled for 1030 hours. A commemorative service will be held at 1100 hours at the Soldiers Memorial Gardens.
At the wreath-laying ceremony a wreath will be placed in recognition of those killed during the Coral/ Balmoral conflict in late May 1968 in South Vietnam. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the occasion where 26 young Australians lost their lives.

The clubrooms in Coral Street will open after service.
A lunch will be held at the Hotel Victor. All welcome. Bookings essential. The lunch is $30pp, including a two-course lunch (choice of two mains), dessert, tea and coffee and a complimentary car raffle ticket. Wednesday, April 25 – Dawn Service 0545 hours at the Soldiers Memorial Gardens. Allow time for slow traffic and parking.
Lions Club Victor Harbor & Port Elliot will provide a complimentary ‘Gunfire Breakfast’ adjacent following. The clubrooms will be open after the service.
Saturday, April 28 – Local ANZAC Football Derby at 1400 hrs at Encounter Bay Oval between Victor Harbor and Encounter Bay for the RSL Cup and medallions for football and netball.
